Heather Hartman has demonstrated a commitment to the Oak Ridge community and to the Oak Ridge Schools. She has been a volunteer for children as a PTO president, Cub Scout leader, Sunday School teacher, and youth football booster, and now a member of the Board of Education. Her education credentials and work experience are detailed below.
Hartman’s experience as an involved parent in the Oak Ridge Schools, her academic credentials in grade school education administration, and her experience in institutional accreditation and assessment, have given her the knowledge, skills, and abilities to serve well on the Oak Ridge Board of Education.
She has proven an enduring commitment to Oak Ridge Schools and pledges to work with the other Board members and the Superintendent to keep Oak Ridge Schools great.

Associate Vice President; SACSCOC Liaison
Coordinated Brenau University's reaffirmation process (2011, 1 recommendation), level change (2012, no recommendations), and substantive changes, as well as all other communication with the SACS Commission on Colleges. Coordinated the Institutional Effectiveness group, bringing together assessment, institutional research, strategic planning, and the QEP, a critical thinking project to function in concert.
Developed and facilitated a rigorous online facilitator certification class for future online instructors, developed a self-paced tutorial for the learning management system (Blackboard), and worked with others to identify academic and support services for students that could be extended to the online environment. Instrumental in the development of a 2-year general education offering in the online format, strategized with various departments and offices to offer student services online, conceived and established an annual Online Facilitator Summit professional development event, and supervised online faculty and student support personnel.

ORHS Wildcat Football Boosters Club, 2017-2022
The boosters support and enhance the football program of Oak Ridge High School and build goodwill for the school, to motivate and encourage a healthy, competitive spirit among young men and women who participate in the football program. I maintained the football boosters website and designed (using InDesign) the annual printed ORHS Football Program, selling advertising in excess of $14,000.
